LTC completes research project focused on knowledge management and collaboration.

OrgniK logoLondon, UK, Washington DC, 9 November 2010 - LTC is proud to announce the successful completion of its 2-year research project ORGANIK (Organic Knowledge Management System for Small European Knowledge-intensive Companies), part of the “Research for the benefits of SMEs” scheme of the seventh Framework Program of the European Commission. The goal of the scheme is to strengthen the 'innovation capacity' of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe and their contribution to the development of new technology-based products and markets.

The project was aimed at researching and developing an innovative knowledge management system that enables the semantic fusion of enterprise social software applications, tailored to functional requirements of smaller and knowledge-intensive companies. A prototype was developed as a result of the project, which has the potential to enable an effective management of organisational knowledge.

The project has officially come to an end after the review meeting on 17th September where the project partners (nine in total) met the reviewer of the European Commission at LTC’s UK offices. Overall, the project led to promising results and has allowed LTC to consolidate and build on its expertise in the areas of content management, enterprise social software, online collaboration and sharing environments.

“ORGANIK was a huge success”, said Dr. Adriane Rinsche, managing director of LTC. “At LTC we are at the forefront of developing products and processes that improve management and collaboration in many business scenarios. OGANIK gave us the opportunity to research processes, new technologies and new uses of existing technologies to improve collaboration and information sharing. These insights will feed into our product development and service offerings in the very near future.”
